Methodology
How our calculators work
Budget split: multiplies your monthly take-home pay by the percentages you choose. Savings & debt receives whatever is not assigned to needs and wants.
Emergency fund: target = essential monthly expenses × months of coverage. Time to goal = remaining gap ÷ monthly contribution, rounded up.
Debt payoff: a month-by-month simulation. Interest accrues monthly at APR ÷ 12, all minimums are paid, and your extra payment (plus any freed-up minimums) goes to the highest-APR debt (avalanche) or the smallest balance (snowball).
Savings growth: monthly compounding at the assumed annual rate ÷ 12, with contributions added at the end of each month.
Paycheck planner: monthly average = paycheck × paychecks per year ÷ 12.

Calculator FAQ
No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is sent to MR IT LLC or anyone else, and it disappears when you close the page.
They are estimates based only on the numbers you enter and simple, transparent assumptions (for example fixed interest rates and on-time payments). Real results vary with rates, fees, taxes and timing.
Use a conservative assumption, such as the current yield on your own savings account. Rates change over time and investment returns are never guaranteed, so try a few scenarios.
