In short: We do not use third-party, analytics or advertising cookies. Our website stores three small preferences in your browser's localStorage (your notice choice, theme and article feedback), which never leave your device and can be cleared at any time.

Effective date: October 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how MR IT LLC ("MR IT LLC," "we," "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on https://mritllc.com (the "Website"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

The short version: we do not use any third-party cookies, analytics cookies or advertising cookies. The Website uses your browser's localStorage for three small, functional purposes, and that information stays on your device. We never receive it.

1. What cookies and localStorage are

1.1 Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. Your browser sends them back to the website's server with later requests, which lets the site recognize your browser over time. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other domains, such as advertising networks or analytics providers whose code is embedded in a page, are called third-party cookies, and they are commonly used to track people across many websites.

Cookies can be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

1.2 localStorage

localStorage is part of the Web Storage feature built into modern browsers. It lets a website save small pieces of information in your browser, tied to that website's domain. It differs from cookies in a few important ways:

  • It is not sent to the server. Information in localStorage is not automatically transmitted with each web request the way cookies are. It is read only by scripts running on pages from the same website, inside your browser.
  • It does not expire on its own. Items in localStorage remain until the website removes them or you clear them through your browser.
  • It is limited to one site. Other websites cannot read the localStorage of mritllc.com, and we cannot read theirs.

Because some privacy laws, including the EU ePrivacy rules, treat storing information on your device in a similar way to cookies, we describe our use of localStorage in this Cookie Policy and refer to it, together with cookies, as "storage technologies."

1.3 Similar technologies

Other tracking technologies include web beacons (also called pixels or tags), device fingerprinting and software development kits that report user activity to third parties. The Website does not use any of these.

2. What we use and why

The Website is a static site served entirely from mritllc.com. We do not load third-party analytics, advertising, social media widgets, external fonts or content delivery networks, so no third party has the opportunity to set cookies or read storage when you visit our pages.

We use localStorage for exactly three purposes. The complete list of keys is below.

Key namePurposeCategoryWhat is storedDurationSet by
mrit_cookie_consentRemembers that you have seen and responded to our cookie and storage notice, so we do not show it on every page.Strictly necessaryYour notice choice (for example, acknowledged or declined optional storage) and the date it was madeUntil you clear itMR IT LLC (first party)
mrit_themeRemembers whether you prefer the light or dark color theme.PreferenceThe value "light" or "dark"Until you clear itMR IT LLC (first party)
mrit_feedback_<article-slug>Remembers that you already answered "Was this helpful?" on a specific article, so the question is not repeated. One key per article you rate, for example mrit_feedback_how-to-build-an-emergency-fund.FunctionalityYour answer (for example, yes or no) for that articleUntil you clear itMR IT LLC (first party)

None of these items contain your name, email address or any other information that identifies you, and none are transmitted to our servers or to any third party. Your article feedback is stored only in your browser; we do not collect or aggregate it.

2.1 Categories explained

  • Strictly necessary storage is needed to provide a feature you have requested or to comply with your choices. The consent key simply records your response to our notice so we can respect it.
  • Preference storage remembers settings you choose, such as a color theme, to make the Website more comfortable to use.
  • Functionality storage supports small interactive features, such as remembering that you have already given feedback on an article.

We do not use analytics, performance-measurement, advertising, targeting or social media storage of any kind.

2.2 What happens if you decline optional storage

Our notice lets you decline optional storage. If you do, the Website will continue to work fully. Your theme choice may follow your device's system setting instead of being remembered, and you may see the "Was this helpful?" question again on articles you previously rated. The consent key itself is still stored so that we can remember and respect your decision; without it, we would have to ask you again on every page.

3. What we do not use

For clarity, the Website does not use:

  • third-party cookies of any kind;
  • first-party or third-party analytics cookies, such as those set by web analytics services;
  • advertising, retargeting or conversion-tracking cookies or pixels;
  • social media plugins, share buttons that load third-party scripts, or embedded videos that set cookies;
  • fonts, scripts or stylesheets loaded from external content delivery networks;
  • session replay, heatmap or fingerprinting technologies; or
  • cookies or storage to build profiles of visitors or track them across websites.

Our web hosting provider may process standard server logs, such as IP address, user agent and timestamps, when your browser requests pages. Those logs are generated on the server, not stored in your browser, and are used only for security and operations. They are described in our Privacy Policy.

Forms on the Website, such as the contact form and newsletter sign-up, send the information you enter to our server-side mail handler. They do not set tracking cookies. If our hosting platform ever requires a strictly necessary security cookie, for example to protect forms from automated abuse, we will add it to the table above with its purpose and duration.

Our articles link to helpful external resources, such as government websites. When you click a link and leave mritllc.com, the website you visit may use its own cookies and storage, governed by its own policies. Because we do not embed third-party content in our pages, simply reading our Website does not allow those sites to set cookies in your browser.

5. How to view, control and delete storage

You are in control of the information stored in your browser. You can change your choice using our notice, remove individual items, or clear all storage for mritllc.com. Clearing storage will reset your theme preference, show the cookie notice again and reset your article feedback status. Browser menus change over time, so the steps below are general; check your browser's help pages if they differ.

5.1 Google Chrome (desktop)

  1. Open the menu (three dots) and choose Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Site settings, then See all site data and permissions.
  3. Search for mritllc.com and choose the delete (trash) icon to remove its stored data.
  4. Alternatively, while on mritllc.com, click the icon to the left of the address bar, choose Site settings, then Delete data.

5.2 Mozilla Firefox (desktop)

  1. Open the menu (three lines) and choose Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security and scroll to Cookies and Site Data.
  3. Choose Manage Data, search for mritllc.com, select it and choose Remove Selected, then Save Changes.
  4. Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection can also block third-party cookies on other sites; it does not affect how mritllc.com works.

5.3 Apple Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari and choose Safari > Settings (or Preferences on older versions).
  2. Select the Privacy tab and choose Manage Website Data.
  3. Search for mritllc.com, select it and choose Remove.

Safari on iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, go to Apps (on some versions skip this step), then Safari > Advanced > Website Data, find mritllc.com and swipe left to delete it.

5.4 Microsoft Edge (desktop)

  1. Open the menu (three dots) and choose Settings.
  2. Select Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data, then See all cookies and site data.
  3. Search for mritllc.com and choose the delete icon.

5.5 Mobile browsers and private browsing

Most mobile browsers offer a similar option under their settings, typically labeled privacy, site settings or clear browsing data. If you use a private or incognito window, localStorage is normally discarded when you close that window, so your preferences will not be remembered between sessions.

5.6 Blocking storage entirely

You can configure most browsers to block all cookies and site data. If you do, the Website will still display all articles and calculators, but it will not be able to remember your theme, your notice choice or your article feedback, and some interactive elements may ask you again each visit.

5.7 Developer tools

If you are curious, you can inspect exactly what the Website stores. In most desktop browsers, open the developer tools, select the Application or Storage tab, and look under Local Storage for https://mritllc.com. You will see only the keys listed in Section 2.

6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a signal your browser or a browser extension can send to tell websites that you do not want your personal information sold or shared for targeted advertising. We honor GPC as a valid opt-out request. Because the Website does not use advertising or tracking storage in the first place, nothing changes in how the Website works when GPC is enabled; you get the same privacy-respecting experience either way.

Do Not Track (DNT) is an older browser signal without a common industry standard. The Website does not track visitors across sites or over time, so our practices are the same whether or not your browser sends DNT.

MR IT LLC is located in New South Wales, Australia, and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as described in our Privacy Policy. The localStorage items described in Section 2 contain only simple preference values, never leave your device and are not received by us, so we do not use them to collect personal information about you. Because our Website is read by visitors worldwide, we also design our storage practices to meet the stricter consent rules that apply in some other places, as explained below.

EEA and UK visitors. Under the ePrivacy rules in the European Economic Area and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations in the United Kingdom, storing information on a device generally requires consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has requested. We treat the mrit_cookie_consent key as strictly necessary because it records and respects your choice. We store the theme and feedback keys only to deliver features you actively use, and you can decline them through our notice or remove them at any time as described in Section 5. Where personal data is involved, our legal bases are described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change how the Website works, add or remove storage items, or need to reflect changes in law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we ever plan to introduce analytics, advertising or any third-party cookies, we will update this policy and our Privacy Policy before the change takes effect and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first through our notice. Any new storage item will be added to the table in Section 2 with its purpose, category and duration.
